Cabbage has anti-ageing properties such that it will make your skin look young. This is because it consists of vitamin C that slows down your ageing process.
500gramsCabbage (Patta Gobi) , roughly chopped or sliced thin
1tspMustard seeds
1 ½tspWhite Urad Dal (Split)
1sprigCurry leaves , finely chopped
1Green Chilli , slit
¼cupFresh coconut , grated
To tasteSalt
½tspTurmeric
Instructions
To begin making this recipe, get the cabbage chopped or sliced and prep the rest of the ingredients and keep them ready.
Heat a teaspoon of oil a heavy-bottomed pan on medium flame. Add the mustard seeds and urad dal. Allow them to crackle. Roast the urad dal until it gets lightly browned.
Once the dal is browned, add the curry leaves, green chillies, haldi (turmeric), cabbage and salt to taste.
Give the mixture a stir. Sprinkle some water and cover the pan. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the cabbage is steamed and ready to eat. The cabbage should still be a bit firm and not too soft to get a nice texture when you eat it.
Once done, add the grated coconut, give the cabbage a mix and check the salt. Add more coconut if required. Turn off the flame and serve.
